African Tribal Art - Clay pot, Tanzania

This fabulous little spiky pot would have held some kind of healing potion for a Tanzanian witch doctor. It stands about 5.5" tall and has a wood stopper that measures 4-1/4", carved in the shape of an animal. A necklace of tiny blue beads encircles the neck. The fiber handle that was tied to the pot has broken off - please see photos below. Early 20th century. #1987 SOLD
