African Tribal Art - Wood phallus, legba, Fon, Togo/Benin


Three carved wood phallus, called legba, from the Fon tribe on the border of Togo and Benin. These were placed in the ground to stimulate the growth of crops. 19th century. They measure 16”, 16.5” and 18” respectively and are each mounted on a custom metal base.  #5059, 5060, On right: 5061 (SOLD).  $375 each, sold separately.
