African Tribal Art - Ritual scepter, Ga'anda, Nigeria

A very uncommon ritual scepter from the Ga’anda people of the upper Benue River, North Central Nigeria. It has intricate incised diamond patterns on the surface and ten hand forged rivets. It measures 43” high by 13” wide and has an encrusted patina at the top. The photos do not do it justice - additional views will be send by request. Late 19th to early 20th century. #5829  $3200
