Ceramic with pigmented slip
A.D. 1000-1450
18" (47 cm) high
Cream and dark brown slip-painted earthenware. The upper portion is painted in circles within circles with small bird motifs in the centers and with smaller circles interspersed. There are loop handles on opposing sides and a cup-shaped mouth with decorated rim. Lower portion is plain cream. Ex. private collection, Iowa, ex. David Stuart, Los Angeles, 1980s.
