Fakir's crutch
Hand forged iron
Early to mid 20th century
27" (68.5 cm) high, spike is 16.25" (41.2 cm) long

This unusual crutch was used by a fakir or mendicant in India, who were prohibited from carrying weapons. The four-sided square-sectioned spike is revealed by unscrewing the shaft.
