A man's summer hat made of woven wicker with the original silk fringe and metal finial. It fits neatly in the accompanying red lacquered leather carrying box. The wicker is in very good condition, but for a couple of pin holes, and the finial is tilted by the uneven thickness of the top of the fringe; the hat itself is even beneath the finial. The hat box shows a few dents from use and age and the fit is a little uneven.
