A small bronze Buddha from Burma. Sitting with right hand touching the earth and left palm facing heaven, this posture represents, among other things, the conversion of anger and aggression into mirror-like wisdom. The tree of life grows behind the figure. This devotional Buddha was excavated from beneath a temple, so it has a patina from years of burial. It measures 4.5” high. 18th to 19th century.  #8077  $700
