Late 19th to early 20th century
The tanggeon was worn by nobility, as well as men in the commercial and medical fields. It would cover the mangeon, which was a horse hair head band that would keep the hair in place. It also might be worn as a support beneath the gwanmo, a more formal and elaborate official hat.
