Coco de mer, wood, brass ring in spout
9" (22.8 cm) high by 11" (28 cm) long
Late 19th to early 20th century
A classic, well-worn coco de mer kashkul for carrying water, used by sadhus in India. This one has a wooden handle, spout and blobs of resin for water tightness. It lists a bit to the left, as though it was seated on the base at a slight angle. The visible fissure along the back near the base is shallow.
