A pitcher with a ram’s head adorning the
long spout comes from the Marlik region of the
Gohar valley in Gilan province, Iran.
Historical objects unearthed from Gohar Roud (Marlik) in 1961 indicate
that the territory was once a center of art which influenced the entire
Middle East. This piece measures 10” long by 4.5” high. There is a
repaired crack running horizontally around the pitcher. Circa 12-10th
century B.C. From an old North Carolina collection; the buyer
will be provided with a certificate of provenance.
