This wonderful pitcher with checkerboard motif and a long spout comes
from the Marlik region of the Gohar
valley in Gilan province, Iran. Historical objects unearthed from Gohar
Roud (Marlik) in 1961 indicate that the territory was once a center of
art which influenced the entire Middle East. This unusual piece measures
13” long by 7.5” high. Circa 12-10th century B.C. From an old North
