Textiles - Baknough, Chenini, Tunisia

This glorious red wool ajar was worn on the shoulders of Tunisian women and is from the village of Chenini. The upper edge is the original warp end as the wool twists and turns around at this point - it has not been cut. The cream cotton designs are very finely woven into this piece. It has three small worn holes and measures 60" wide by 37" long.  TT123 SOLD
