Tribal Art - Leather shield, Oromo, Ethiopia

This dramatic shield from the Oromo tribe of Ethiopia is made from very thick leather, possibly the hide of a hippopotamus. It measures 30” in diameter and has a very solidly attached handle on the back. Please see photos for additional views. Early 20th century. #1948 SOLD |
