A large incense burner/brazier depicting the rain god Tlaloc from the El Chanal area in Colima. These would be placed in an altar or temple, with a tray of burning coals and incense placed inside the column or on top. There are a few repaired pieces on the upper tray but the entire piece is solid. Here is a link to a similar piece in the Walters Art Museum, MD.
