A ceremonial mace head in the form of an owl's head with a slightly open beak, large tufted eyes, upright ears and skillfully incised lines. The owl was associated with death, shamanic transformation, warrior castes, and the messengers of the underworld. It acted as a liminal figure, connected to warrior societies and shamanic practices.
There is an inventory number on the bottom: 4339-130 A. The stone base is not custom made, but was used for photography and yet, could be included if desired.
