This Buddha is seated on an hourglass-shaped pedestal, his legs in the lotus posture (padmasana); his hands form the gestures of Calling the Earth to Witness (bhumisparsha-mudra), and of meditation (dhyana-mudra). The Buddha wears a monastic robe that leaves the right shoulder uncovered. His head, surmounted by a cranial protuberance (ushnisha), is extended by a finial in the shape of a stupa.
