Lakshmi, also known as Sri Devi, is the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, luxury, beauty, fertility, and auspiciousness. She is invoked to remove troubles in starting a spiritual path or a business and holds the promise of material fulfillment and contentment. Here, as usual, she is shown wearing a kuchabandha or breast band, holding a closed lotus bud in her left hand, and is sporting the tall, multi-tiered karandamukuta crown. Her dhoti is dripping with pearls and her ears are adorned with circular earrings.
