Katazome refers to the resist dye technique using rice paste and bran squeezed through a stencil (katagami) to produce beautiful repeat patterns. This is a very traditional floral motif with a very soft hand from age and use. This was likely part of an old futon cover. Very good condition, two small tears: one 1/2" L-shaped tear near one end.
