Rama is one of the most beloved incarnations of Vishnu. He holds a special place in Indian folklore, as the devoted husband who rescues his wife Sita from the demon Ravanna. As the hero in the Ramayana epic, he represents fidelity, gentleness and steadfastness, the ultimate qualities of manhood. Standing here in samapada pose, with his feet evenly placed, he carries his quiver on his back, his bow in the crook of his arm and holds both hands in apana mudra. A conical crown, a dhoti, and a small hair disc complete his outfit.
