This large old shaman's drum is from the Middle Hills area of Nepal. The handle is an impressive 13" while the body of the drum is 18" in height. The depth of the leather covered drum is 5" and it has a separate 19" bent cane striker. The patina on the handle is thick and shiny with three beatific faces at the top. The sound when struck is deep and sonorous. Early 20th century. #1973 SOLD |
