The handspun cotton threads used for the body of this large huipil are natural brown warp threads called ixcaco, woven in with red, yellow and blue threads; the geometric supplementary weft brocade designs are mostly in cotton, while the purple and pink are in silk. The neck opening is finished in the traditional china cinta ribbon and the side edges are open. This rare ceremonial huipil is in excellent condition.
