This is whimsical clay food serving bowl, kamana, is from the
Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea. These spirit faces were
chip-carved by men after the women created the bowls with a coiling
technique. It measures 8" in diameter, is 6” high and has no chips or
cracks. Remnants of sago flour can be seen in the interior - please see
multiple views below. Pre-1930.
