This is an unusual three-layered Gnau culture shell cache-sex from the
Torricelli Mountains in the West Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea. In
addition to the columns of bits of ovula and conus shells is a top layer
of small cone and cowrie shells. These two layers were worn over a
separate skirt of Job’s tears seeds. The woven fiber was
periodically replaced as it would wear out and therefore look newer -
the shells are very old – please see detail photo below. This one
