This simple and elegantly shaped gold pendant, taka, is from the
Ngada tribe of Central Flores Island. Used as bridewealth payment, it
possesses sacred qualities and is part of the adat heirloom
valuables. It measures 2-7/8” wide by 2-9/16” high. 38 grams. Late 19th to early
20th century.
